If this place were a room it would be a bijou crystal-encrusted cocktail bar on a secluded beach in Ibiza, complete with disco ball glinting in the sunshine and fabulously kitsch accessories; a place where I'd gather my pals around me to kick back and shoot the breeze. By day we'd have a good chinwag and put the world to rights over a Porn Star Martini and a Pad Thai, soothing chillout tunes in the background. By night we'd crank up the music, stack away the chairs and ramp up the party, dancing on the bar til dawn. Sound like fun? Well in that case you're in the right place.
Having reached my 40th year with the laughter lines and battle-scars to prove it, this is where I share my various pearls of wisdom with you. Or something like that. Most of my life lessons were learnt the hard way: from early childhood to teenage angst, cancer treatment to infertility and IVF, Singleton to Smug Married and back on the dating carousel again as a shell-shocked thirty-something. As a result I’ve got a finely-tuned BS radar, a philosophical outlook, skin as thick as rhino hide (metaphorically-speaking, not on my face I hope) and a wry sense of humour. I'm still gym-phobic and a lousy cook, but hey, nobody's perfect, right?
I'm a make-up junkie, a beauty boutique manager and hardcore clubber, with a passion for overseas adventures, so expect product reviews and travel blogs as well as interviews, podcasts, memoirs and health-related posts. I blog regularly for Huffington Post UK so you can find me tapping away over there too.
